Whether you are a regular or have never attended before, this is the year to make The Arc of Baltimore’s wildly successful Art in the Round a “can’t miss” event on your fall calendar.
Begun eight years ago by The Arc of Baltimore, Art in the Round features a 75-piece exhibit of art created by individuals with developmental disabilities and a silent auction. Artwork includes an eclectic combination of works from paintings, drawings, and watercolors to sculptures and ceramics.
In addition, this year’s Art in the Round – which marks another event in the year-long celebration of The Arc of Baltimore’s 60th Anniversary – features a photography exhibit of Arc supported people and families by noted local photographer Howard Korn.
To accommodate Art in the Round’s growth and popularity, this year’s exhibit moves to the American Visionary Art Museum’s Rouse Building, 800 Key Highway in Downtown Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood.
As in the past, Art in the Round attendees can enjoy a cocktail reception featuring hors d'oeuvres, beverages, desserts, and a wine-tasting sponsored by Beltway Fine Wine.
Proceeds from Art in the Round help to fund future art programs, workshops, and training programs for people with developmental disabilities. Featured artists will receive 60 percent of the winning bid for each piece of art sold. In addition, The Arc of Baltimore will give a financial award to the artist whose work is chosen to be used for next year’s Art in the Round promotional poster.
