The 16th annual Pow-Wow/American Indian Show and Festival will continu on July 12, 2009 at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, Maryland. Gates open at 11:00AM on Sunday and the kick-off parade begins at noon. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with American Indians and learn about their history and culture. There will be American Indian dancers, singers, drummers, artists, and craftspersons. There will be different types of activities for all ages, including pony rides, face painting, and storytelling for the children, as well as instrument making, drumming, and traditional folktales for the adults. Vendors will be selling jewelry, moccasins, beadwork, rugs, books, paintings, dreamcatchers, and food.
The pow-wow will be held in the main exhibition hall of the Fairgrounds. Sunday events will run from 11:00AM-6:00PM.
