Inside the Museum, a new exhibit has just opened, entitled the “Life of a Firefighter in 1870s Baltimore”. Through the reconstruction of the façade of old Engine #8 from Baltimore City, the story of firefighters and their lives within this building is told. Other inside displays include over 40 pieces of hand-pulled, horse-drawn and motorized antique fire apparatus, an operating fire alarm telegraph system, badge and uniform collections, as well as an exhibit, DVD and associated audio tour about the 1904 Baltimore fire.  Also included is the popular Discovery Room where children can dress up as fire fighters and sit behind the wheel of a 1938 Mack fire engine!.
