Harborplace & The Gallery, Baltimore’s number one tourist attraction where more than 13 million visitors annually come to shop, dine and enjoy the entertainment, has partnered with AIABaltimore and The Maryland Food Bank to host Canstruction. Using only canned goods, teams of Baltimore architects, engineers, contractors, designers and students attending schools of architecture, engineering and design will create and build unique structures within a 10’ space.
Canstruction is a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness and fighting hunger, using “One can” as a catalyst for change. Following the competition, all canned goods used to create the structures will be donated to The Maryland Food Bank. The final structures will be put on display for the general public and a “People’s Choice” award will be presented to the designers of the structure that received the most votes.
