Description / Comments
The Jean Steirn Cancer Program: Beyond Breast Cancer at The Pro Bono Counseling Project, in partnership with the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R), is hosting a free workshop entitled, "Intimacy After Cancer: A workshop for Oncology and Mental Health Professionals."

Dr. Sally Kydd, PsyD, L. Psych, author of "Intimacy After Cancer" is a clinical psychologist and also a breast cancer survivor, who brings a wealth of knowledge and personal experience. Dr. Kydd believes that sexuality is the "elephant in the room" that is frequently not discussed following a diagnosis of cancer. In this workshop based on her book, she will lecture about challenges to a person’s sexuality that a cancer diagnosis presents and provide a framework for overcoming these hurdles.

The workshop will be held Friday, March 28th, 2008, at the Radisson Hotel, Cross Keys (5100 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD), 9AM-12PM. A light breakfast will be served. The course provides 3 Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s) for eligible participants. In addition, a complimentary copy of her book "Intimacy After Cancer" will be provided to registrants.

Please register in advance by contacting Ellen Bonta at 410-323-5800 or by email at ellen@probonocounseling.org. Additional details at:
